In this paper, a novel DC–DC SIDO converter was presented. The topology of the proposed converter was designed transformerless; thus, the related drawbacks were avoided. The voltage stresses of the implemented switches and diodes were rather low. The structure was able to provide high-voltage gains considering its few circuit components.
The proposed configuration can be used in many applications such as renewable energy sources and diode-clamped inverter in the grid-tied systems. In this paper, steady-state and small-signal analyses of the SIDO converter are presented and the simulation and experimental results are extracted and compared.
The active SiC device chips were subjected to three power pulses with a cycle time of 3 s and an on-time of 1.5 s. The simulated power dissipation was 70 W per chip, set up as an internal heat source in two of the devices.
